Where Does Rain Come From?
"How does water fall from the sky?"
💡 Simple Explanation
Rain is water on an amazing journey! The sun warms up lakes, rivers, and oceans, making water float up into the sky as invisible vapor - like steam from a hot bath. Up high, the air is cold, so the vapor turns back into tiny water droplets that form clouds. The droplets bump into each other and join together, getting bigger and heavier. When they're too heavy to float, they fall down as rain! Then the water flows back to rivers and oceans, and the journey starts again!
🎉 Fun Fact!
A single raindrop takes about 10 minutes to fall from a cloud to the ground!
